Choose a book, record where you are, and set a daily goal. Your progress is stored in localStorage in this browser; it is not uploaded to a user account.
If the EPUB has no fixed print pagination, the tool starts with an estimated page count and lets you replace it with the page total shown by your own reader.

The reading tool estimates how long it will take to read a work based on its word count. These are approximate figures, assuming a steady reading pace, and can help you plan your time.
The catalog includes works of very different lengths. About 41 books are 'quick' reads (under an hour), while a few are 'marathon' reads exceeding 300 minutes. Knowing this before you start can help you choose a book that matches your schedule.

Reading Tracker is a simple tool for turning a chosen book into a concrete reading plan. It records progress in pages, not sections or minutes, which keeps the system straightforward and compatible with any edition. You set a daily page goal, and the tracker estimates how many days remain and when you might finish.
The tracker's default daily goal is 20 pages, but you can adjust it to match your available time. For a book like German Science Reader An Introduction to Scientific German, for Students of Physics, Chemistry and Engineering — Text and Context, which has 28,736 words, the initial page estimate is calculated by dividing the word count by 250 words per page, giving about 115 pages. At 20 pages per day, that would take roughly 6 days.
If you prefer a slower pace, you might set a goal of 10 pages per day, which would extend the reading over about 12 days. The tracker updates its estimates accordingly, so you can experiment with different goals to see how they affect your finish date.
The tracker uses an initial page estimate based on a standard 250 words per page, but you can replace that with the total page count shown by your own reading app or edition. This is especially useful for books with unusual layouts, illustrations, or large type, where the actual page count may differ from the estimate.
For example, if your edition of German Science Reader An Introduction to Scientific German, for Students of Physics, Chemistry and Engineering — Text and Context has 130 pages instead of the estimated 115, you can enter that number. The tracker then uses the actual total to calculate remaining time and finish days, making your plan more accurate.
Each time you read, you update your current page in the tracker. The estimated remaining time is proportional: if you are halfway through the book, you have roughly half the estimated reading time left. The estimated finish days are calculated by dividing the remaining pages by your daily goal, rounding up to the nearest whole day.
The tracker stores your progress history in your browser's localStorage, so no account is required. This means you can close the page and return later without losing your place. For a book like German Science Reader, which has 10 text sections, page-based tracking gives you a steady sense of progress even if you read irregularly.
